Having a smart thermostat installed can save you a fortune using open thermostat technology this means the boiler will modulate to give the perfect heat output every time you can also switch the heating off  whilst you are out so no more forgetting 

Make sure your boiler is a condensing one

It is imperative if you own a gas boiler that it’s condensing, now more than ever the old non-condensing boilers are throwing money out of your flue

Turn your thermostatic radiator valves to a comfortable temperature 

If you have all your thermostats turned up to full when you’re room gets hot quickly you can turn your trv down to position 3 or 2 and see if you still get the desired heat output from your radiators 

Swap your heat on and off times on your thermostat 

Bit of a sneaky one this or a hack, by turning off your heating on time and heating off time by 1/2 an hour you can save up to 1hr per day which is average £1 per day. A whopping £365.00 a year unless it’s a leap year of course
