How Much Does a New Boiler Actually Cost?
This is the question everyone wants a straight answer to, and fair enough — it's a big purchase. Here's what genuinely affects the price, and roughly what to expect.
Typical prices for our jobs
- Like-for-like combi swap: from £2,000
- System-to-combi conversion: from £3,000
- Most jobs fall in the £2,000–£3,000 range depending on the work involved
What actually changes the price
- Like-for-like vs conversion — swapping the same type of boiler for a newer version is the cheapest option; changing the type (say, system to combi) means more pipework.
- Boiler size and brand — we fit Worcester Bosch and Ideal; both have a range of models at different price points depending on your home's hot water demand.
- Where the boiler is, and where it's going — moving the boiler to a new location costs more than swapping it in the same spot.
- Extra work uncovered on the day — old, worn pipework or an undersized system sometimes needs attention alongside the boiler itself. We'll always tell you before doing anything unquoted.
Why the cheapest quote isn't always the best one
A very low quote often means a smaller boiler than your home actually needs, a shorter warranty, or corners cut on the install itself — and a badly sized or badly fitted boiler costs you more over its lifetime in efficiency and repairs. We'll size it properly for your home the first time.
